BFL sheep have curly, fine, lustrous wool which is one of the softest of the UK. Yarn is extremely beautiful, soft and fluffy. Naturally breathable. Bluefaced Leicester wool is British and comes from small farms all over the UK, and it is purchased through British Wool Marketing. These yarns have been superwash treated in the UK to the highest environmental standards possible. This makes the yarn machine washable, without felting or shrinkage. 100% natural and renewable - Every year, sheep produce a new fleece. Wool is utterly renewable fibre. 100% biodegradable - Yarn will naturally decompose in soil in a matter of years, slowly releasing valuable nutrients back into the earth. The yarn is ready to dye in skeins. Suitable for dyeing with acid and reactive dyes.

Recommended needle size: 2.5mm - 4.0mm depending on the fabric you require for your project.

For socks: 2.5mm - 3.0mm

For sweaters: 3.0mm - 3.75mm

For shawls: 4mm (creates a looser fabric with drape)
